Since I became a vegetarian I have realized how much people with dietary restrictions have a hard time finding good places to eat. It is not in every city that you find vegetarian or vegan restaurants. I often have to eat only salad or cooked vegetables because of the lack of options: /
As one of our next destinations is Rome, we are already looking for places that specialize in vegetarian or vegan food. We found some very interesting ones, so I’ll share with you what they are. Ah, in the post of best restaurants in Rome I told you some places that have vegetarian options on the menu, if you want to read it just click here.
Have you ever imagined joining a super charming restaurant and cafe with several kittens? I confess that I found this very unusual, but Romeow is a super charming place full of personality. Their menu is full of natural foods and has great vegetarian and vegan options.
THEs cats are scattered around the environment and are super gentle, love to interact with customers. If you want to try a delicious dish, I recommend the green ravioli, stuffed with artichokes and topped with mint pesto sauce and black garlic cream. An exotic combination, just like the location!
All dishes prepared at Orto are made with organic products. The basis of most of them are vegetables, dairy products and olive oil. Like the food, the restaurant’s atmosphere is simple and you feel like you are inside a garden because of the decoration full of plants.
One of the most different dishes there is that of zucchini meatballs and potatoes, topped with crunchy almonds and red fruit sauce. The meal can get even better if you ask for some organic wine available on the menu.
Écru Vegan is one of the restaurants with the most varied menu on the list. They sell incredible dishes, like vegan sushi, falafel with chickpea hummus and even spaghetti with seaweed. In addition, they have a grocery store that sells vegetarian and vegan products.
If you are interested in this type of merchandise, some of them are almond milk, vegan cheese, smoothies and wines – all made by small local producers. The decor of the restaurant is also very beautiful, with walls of burnt cement, wooden tables and hanging lamps.
One of the main motivations of Solo Crudo is the attempt for a more sustainable future, as they tell in the description of Facebook. The restaurant selects natural and high quality ingredients so that this is also reflected in the dishes. It’s the kind of place that values the natural flavors of food, you know?
The menu has very varied options, from snacks and soups to sushi and pasta. Among the soups, there is an onion cooked in wine, with tamari sauce, cashew and pepper. The local drinks are also organic, that is, there you will have a healthy and very tasty meal.
One of the most recognized vegan Italian chefs on the market, Simoni Salvini, is in charge of the Ops kitchen. The restaurant offers a buffet that has several food options for both vegetarians and vegans. Ah, the buffet itself also has dessert options, like tiramisu with coconut milk.
The chef always tries to use seasonal ingredients and the dishes have a Mediterranean influence. Anyone who likes this type of service and has always dreamed of an entirely vegetarian buffet will love the place!
After talking about so many savory dishes, I couldn’t leave out a dessert, right? Grezzo sells chocolates produced with organic and gluten-free ingredients or any dairy product. All the sweets, including the delicious gelatos, are vegan and made in a super handmade way.
Even the packaging used by the place is recyclable, that is, the whole process is as sustainable as possible. The flavors are lighter, but I think it’s really worth it to try wonderful, healthy and cruelty-free sweets 😉
Rome is not short of pleasant places with great dishes. I can’t even choose which of those restaurants on the list is my favorite, I swear! If you know any other place that sells only vegetarian food, tell me here or talk to me on my instagram.
