My story with “I Could Kill For Dessert” started when I was looking for a macaron recipe on the internet. I found the video in which Dani explained, with all her sweetness, how to make this recipe so temperamental, and passing it in such a didactic and fun way. Not only did I watch this video but everyone who was available at the time. I didn’t stop there, I went to test it of course, lol and to my surprise they all went super well !! Why did I say to my surprise? Because I am used to testing past recipes in other places and that only work there lol, and the result at home is disastrous!
Well … talk aside, I know that after that there was a big love affair between the site and me, because I couldn’t drop it for anything! If he needed a prescription … he would run to see if there was one; if not, (begged) for the face to see if Dani would post it for me! And it was like that, after some time communicating, participating in the live program … that I decided to make an indecent proposal to be able to be part of this wonderful story that I am so proud of, which is I Could Kill For Dessert.
Here I am today to present you with a super nice and relaxed place for any time of the day, where you have breakfast to Happy Hour. I thought of many known places in Rio to bring you, but wanting to get out of the conventional, I went to Santa Teresa, a place with one of the most wonderful views in Rio de Janeiro – because the most beautiful is seen from my city Niterói lol – which is famous for places with great gastronomy and cozy environments.
Cafecito1 My menu was focused on dessert, so I only ate the salty to taste the dessert lol but it’s super worth the salty, I’m eager to go back there and eat the smoked trout with red onion and a sauce that I only eat to know. In addition, I ate with great friends who they did the favor of being with me in this very difficult task: a gorgonzola cheese sandwich with finely chopped red onion and pepper jelly! Amazing… it combined it all in a super fresh and tasty ciabatta bread, and no less important and unforgettable was the cheese brie with a very high quality honey.
cafecito2 Finally, a slice of what I call it cake without topping, with nothing, but with a childhood flavor, apple with cinnamon and the grand finale was what we were super curious to know if the brownie with pepper jelly was good.
Guys … super easy to reproduce with the wonderful recipe for the “softest brownie I’ve ever eaten” by Dani and, for the jam, I will give my recipe that I use for everything when it comes to pepper jelly. But if you don’t want to have a job … stop by the Cafecito located at Rua Paschoal Carlos Magno, 121 in Santa Teresa, whose environment is all good! Hope you like it!
PEPPER JELLY RECIPE
Ingredients:

  • 2 peppers girl finger without chopped seeds (put up to 4 if you can bear it)
  • 1 1/2 medium APPLE peeled and grated in the thick drain
  • 220 grams cup of SUGAR
  • 200 ml ORANGE JUICE
  • 1 pinch of SALT

Preparation mode:

  1. In a saucepan place all ingredients and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes without stirring.
  2. Put out the fire and watch the beautiful change that happens. The jam gains consistency after it cools.
  3. Transfer the jam to a sterilized glass jar and keep it in the refrigerator.
