The second time I came to Lisbon as a tourist, I arrived on a cold and rainy day. It was Christmas time and I was received at my husband’s house (he already lived here and was not yet a husband) with delicious flowers and chocolates. It was then that I met the delights of Ecuador Chocolataria!
When walking through one of the most important streets in the historic center of Lisbon, suddenly you pass through a very fragrant door… Yes, we have already started to feel the smell of chocolate before even entering the store. And the smell is delicious!
Right at the entrance, we came across a table full of 180g bars, in different flavors: milk, white, 50% to 70% cocoa, with filling or pure, with almonds, dried fruit… And the packaging: a charm to the part!
On the other side, a shelf with smaller bar versions, chocolate lollipops and other treats to give as gifts. And, here, the highlight is the dark chocolate with port wine filling – a great souvenir from Portugal.

At the counter, there are chocolates filled with delicate decoration. These are ideal for eating in the store, accompanying a coffee or to present a selection that is placed in a beautiful box. The flavors: coffee, caramel, cherry, passion fruit, lemon, vanilla, raspberry and others.
There is also the option to buy by the kilo. They are chips in a rustic shape of pure chocolate, with salt flower, with nuts, almonds, and other combinations.
The atmosphere is beautiful, well decorated and at the back of the store there is a space to drink coffee eating chocolate or even the perfect option for the coldest days: hot chocolate!
And attention: there is a store in Lisbon and Porto, so there are more chances to try it! 😉
