Coronavirus: how to take advantage of the quarantine to organize skincare

In times of quarantine due to the coronavirus, let’s think about some things that we always wanted to do, but we didn’t always have time? How about taking advantage of being at home and organizing the skincare products?
I, virginiana that I am, before I start anything, I like to see everything in place. And having the items well organized helps in the day-to-day when we are in a hurry. And if you’re also in that Marie Kondo-style moment, I’ve also made a post about organizing the wardrobe and another one to face this chaos taking care of mental health.

But why skincare? Only when we stop to organize do we remember many products that we had forgotten in the bottom of the drawer. In addition, this moment helps to awaken the desire to take care of your own skin and yourself – which is great for relaxing in this quarantine, go for me!

1: Place all products on the table

The first step is to take everything out of the closet, drawers or purse and place it on a table. So, you can see all the products you have. This helps you to see if you have too many products, others that you haven’t figured out very well yet and can start testing new possibilities.

It is also the time to remember some products that you had forgotten. That way, you won’t worry about buying the same product twice. I’m sure this has already happened to you 🤣

2: Separate what you no longer use and get rid of after quarantine!

Take the opportunity to dispose of some products. First notice everyone who has passed the expiration date and discard. After all, using expired products may not be good for your skin.

Then separate the ones you don’t use and don’t match your routine anymore. Donate to someone who is in need or, if sealed, sell in online stores.

3: Separate by categories

The time has come for categorization, which for me is a pastime in this quarantine. Separate all products by categories to make it easier to do the skincare routine and make everything faster. My suggestion is that 7 divisions be made.

Two categories of skin care: day and night. And others for the rest: hair, body and personal hygiene. The cool thing is also to separate a corner for the stock, if you have purchased a large quantity of some product and show only one unit. Ah, of course there will be some who do not fit into any category, these come in others.

4: How to organize everything!

After the separation, it’s time to organize. There is nothing better for this than some shelves, but a counter, tall and wide drawers will do as well. The tip here is to invest in baskets and cups. That way, you can group smaller products in a very charming way.

And a super tip: labels. You can use it in three ways: for categories (skincare day, night …); to place product usage orders (product 1: cleansing, 2: exfoliation, 3: moisturizing …); and, for those products that we don’t use a lot, it’s nice to put a label with his function.
+ One very important thing: leave the ones you most often have in front of you.

5: Storage, beyond quarantine …

Now that everything is organized and easy to use, some tips for preserving products in storage. It is very important to read the label of the products to know the best way to store each one, but one thing is certain: keep the lids always closed and leave them in a cool place, without exposure to the sun.

Some products can stay quietly in the bathroom, but some, especially in powder or very sensitive, can suffer from humidity. Ah, for more expensive products that you rarely use, use a spatula instead of your fingers to pick it up. This prevents microorganisms from contaminating it.

So, ready to follow Virginiana’s steps here? 🤣 You don’t need to be organized to agree that with well-separated and labeled skincare products your day-to-day life will be much more practical. Enjoy that you came here and tell me what you have done in this quarantine in the comments 🙂
