Dill Restaurant

Nothing better than traveling and eating well, isn’t it? On our travels, Paulo and I always booked a table at one of the best restaurants in the region – and in Iceland it was no different. Right on our first night we went to Dill Restaurant, which is considered the best in the country!

In my view, for a gastronomic experience be complete, the environment counts a lot. Dill leaves nothing to be desired in this regard, the Nordic style of decoration is perfect for tasting modern and delicious dishes. The restaurant is all in neutral colors, contains rustic objects and the low light still brings that warmth.

In addition, it is located in a building designed by Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto in the late 1960s, the Nordic House. The architecture completes this charming environment and the best thing is that access is easy, it is about 15 minutes from the center of Reykjavík.

Now let’s talk about what matters most: the food! The Chef Gunnar Karl Gíslason it’s the Sommelier Ólafur Örn Ólafsson opened the restaurant in 2009 and today they have become a reference in the New Nordic Kitchen.
The dishes, in addition to being beautiful, refer to classic Nordic cuisine, but always with modern touches. Everything is thought out, from the choice of dishes to the arrangement of ingredients. We found a graceto the bread basket with foliage underneath, every detail makes a difference.

The tasting menu has super selected ingredients and always fresh. It even makes your mouth water to remember each of the dishes! The restaurant is not cheap, but it is worth every penny.

It is worth remembering that it is better to make a reservation before going on a trip, as the place is super reserved – it only fits 30 people. They open from Wednesday to Saturday, starting at 6 pm. Don’t miss it!
