Due Lune Chardonnay

Due Lune Chardonnay

This week I went to see a house specialized in bruschettas, the Duo Bruschetteria and Bottega, located in the Cambuí neighborhood, in Campinas (SP). I had already read some good comments about the place, the food and the good taste for choosing the house wines, so I went to take the tasting… And I did not regret it! Before looking at the wine list, I preferred to choose the bruschettas so that I could decide which wine would best harmonize with our choices … Initially we chose one of gorgonzola with cherry tomatoes au gratin and a caprese (tomato, buffalo mozzarella and pesto – made by themselves). I thought it would be cool, mainly because of the pesto and gorgonzola, to ask for a white. I usually harmonize basil pesto with Sauvignon blanc or Torrontes, but I decided to take a chance on Italian Chardonnay and it worked really well with both bruschettas!
The choice was Due Lune, produced in the Chiantti region in Italy. Generally, when we think of Italian wine, we think of reds and Prosecco, hardly white, right? I have to confess that looking at the Bruschetteria wine list, I was anxious about what to expect from an Italian chardonnay, since I was a white Italian I had tasted (and loved) the A-Manomade with grapes Fiano-Greco. When we open the bottle, a very pleasant surprise: light wine, with an aroma of flowers and fruits, very fresh, and very easy to drink! It was absolutely delicious with the bruschettas!
Then, we ordered a tree rice cake with Parma cheese and ham, which also harmonized well with the wine, but the comment was unanimous: the bruschettas won! Regarding the location, we were very well attended, with very friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere is very cozy, which can bring a very romantic atmosphere and, likewise, welcomes a group of friends who enjoy good wine and good food.
Now I’ll have to go back there because I couldn’t taste the fig bruschetta with honey and goat cheese – I have been told that it is fantastic and I believe that this wine will also taste very good with it! In fact, if you want to prepare a special night at home, check out these two inspiring recipes. You already know which wine to drink, right?
