Tips for low-calorie Christmas cookies
Should they be tasty and preferably with few calories? Those with a sweet tooth, watch out, because we have two important tips with which the enjoyment of Christmas cookies is suddenly no longer a calorie sin.
Xylitol instead of sugar: Xylitol has 40 percent fewer calories than sugar. It does not provide any carbohydrates, so the blood sugar level does not rise and does not cause food cravings. As it is also tasty, it is a perfect substitute for sugar.
Replace flour: Nowadays you can safely do without flour and replace it with coconut fiber, nuts and almond flour. While coconut fibers are made up of 60 percent fiber, nuts are completely gluten-free and almonds provide valuable fatty acids and protein. In order for the replacement to work, however, you have to strictly adhere to the quantities given.
Recipes for low-calorie Christmas cookies
Ingredients for 60 pieces:
1. Mix the flour, butter and almonds with the egg yolk, xylitol and baking powder. Finally, add the pulp of the vanilla pod
2. Form small crescents out of the dough and spread them on the baking sheet.
3. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (top and bottom heat).
4. Bake the croissants for 10 minutes.
5. Crush the xylitol in the blender until it looks like powdered sugar.
6. As soon as the croissants have cooled down, you can sprinkle them with the powder xylitol.
Vegan carob stars with goji berries
Ingredients for 30 pieces:
2 dates (medium-sized)
80 g cashew nuts
20 g sunflower seeds
2 tbsp carob powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp coconut oil
3 tbsp goji berries
1. Core the dates.
2. Chop them up in a food processor along with the other dry ingredients. You only leave out the goji berries.
3. Then work the mixture with the water and the coconut oil into a smooth dough.
4. Now the goji berries can be finely chopped.
5. Roll out the dough about 3 to 4 millimeters thick and cut out stars.
6. Decorate them with goji berries.
7. Dry the cookies in the dehydrator for eight hours at 42 degrees or six hours in the oven at 50 degrees with the door slightly open.

Coconut and banana heap
Ingredients for 20 pieces:
1 ½ bananas
1 teaspoon orange peel
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon stevia
2 teaspoons of coconut oil
40 ml of linseed oil
80 g desiccated coconut
½ teaspoon vanilla powder
1. Mash the bananas with a fork
2. Mix the ingredients together until you have a batter.
3. Form teaspoon-sized drops from the dough and press them flat.
4. Sprinkle them with desiccated coconut.
5. Bake them at 170 degrees for 15 minutes.
6. Let them cool down well.
