Whether chia seeds, algae or matcha tea – superfoods are on everyone’s lips and have long since become food hits. But local varieties can also keep up with the exotic ones! We’ll tell you what these are here.
They are supposed to help with chronic inflammation, protect against heart and circulatory diseases, detoxify our body and protect us from all external harmful influences: Superfoods help with every little problem.
But what many often forget: The fruits from all over the world are treated with pesticides and, due to the long transport routes, usually arrive in powdered or dried form.

The goods sold by us can no longer offer the same, valuable nutrients as their recently harvested conspecifics. Fresh and regional fruit and vegetables, on the other hand, do. The varieties you know from childhood can do more than you think and are good, regional alternatives to superfoods.
1. Alternative to superfoods: flax seeds and sunflower seeds
The flaxseed, which is particularly rich in fiber, stimulates digestion and is an absolute slimming product. Together with sunflower seeds, they are the ideal alternative to the Brazilian acai berries, because 100 grams of the nutty-tasting seeds already contain 100 micrograms of the B vitamin. This makes them ideal for pregnant and breastfeeding women. By the way: Sunflower seeds are a great source of vegetable protein at 21 grams per 100 grams.
2. Alternative to superfood: savoy cabbage, kale, cherries
With savoy cabbage you keep your slim line – only 25 kilocalories are in 100 grams. A lot of vitamins C and K, as well as folic acid and beta-carotene are just some of its valuable ingredients.
Another representative of local superfoods is kale: 100 grams contain just as much potassium as 200 milliliters of milk. It also contains a lot of vitamin C.
If you prefer something sweeter, you can choose cherries. These are full of anthocyanins that protect us from free radicals.
We’ll tell you here which superfoods your grandma already bet …
Lose weight with the apple cider vinegar diet
Apple cider vinegar has long been much more than a natural cleaning agent. The kitchen helper has a number of properties that make it a secret weapon on the way to becoming a dream figure.
3. Alternative to superfood: apples
An apple a day keeps the doctor away, as the saying goes. There is much truth in this saying. Apples contain many different vitamins. Its dyes and tannins also strengthen the heart, circulation and immune system.
4. Alternative to superfood: raspberries, broccoli, cress
Who would have thought: With just 33 kilocalories, 100 grams of raspberries provide a quarter of your daily vitamin C content. You get even more with broccoli, which is more than 100 percent per 100 grams.
Anyone looking for an alternative to salads will find it in an inconspicuous plant: cress. It contains twice as much provitamin A and vitamin C as lamb’s lettuce and, thanks to calcium, strengthens the bones.
5. Alternative to superfood: pears, blueberries
The sweet pear is ideal for a healthy dessert. Like any fruit, it contains almost no fat. But there is plenty of potassium and calcium, which have a detoxifying and draining effect on your body.
