Yesterday was a delightful day that I went to do a very different job for the Tag-It Portal in Recife. We had a lot of fun at SPFW doing interviews and watching some parades.
Before we left, we started our day by having lunch at Manioca, Helena Rizzo’s new restaurant that is located inside the Iguatemi Shopping Center in São Paulo.
To start we ask for a giant starch biscuit that comes with dry curd and curd. The starch was super crispy and very tasty. Those who follow me on SnapChat (daniellenoce) could see that the cookie was really bigger than my head and for me this is very funny.
Paulo asked for a pork belly that was falling apart so delicious and I a noodle made with pupunha hearts of palm with parmesan sauce. It was very tasty and refreshing.
For dessert we ordered coconut foam with eggnog ice cream, a favorite dessert from Ju Santos (owner of the Tag-It portal) and also a brigadeiro cake with nest milk ice cream.
The coconut foam with the eggnog ice cream was really delicious. The creamy foam, which I love. However, both desserts were for very childish tastes. The foam is a little less than the cake, but it could still be less sweet.
The cake cannot eat more than two pieces. That kind of good brigadeiro, which I love, but that could have given a little break to the candy. And unfortunately the nest milk ice cream didn’t taste like nest milk: / I felt it a lot, because I love the taste of nest milk.
The restaurant is super beautiful and even with a broad architecture, it feels cozy, almost like a nice beach house: light and with an air of fresh breeze.
In Manioca some dishes were delivered with a significant time difference. The service in general was a little slow, hard and even impersonal, but this could also be because I just returned from LA and received 99% of the places incredible, super personal, fun and fast service.
