Mercer’s Wine Ice Cream

Mercer's Wine Ice Cream

In Brazil, wine is still considered a winter drink, classuda, one of those to make “card” while you are admiring the movement of the streets, from the top of the balcony of your apartment in Campos do Jordão. Although wine consumption has already increased a lot during the summer and other times of the year in Brazil, I still know a lot of people who wrinkle their noses to enjoy a cooler wine by the pool.
It seems that Mercer’s Dairy heard my xurumelas and decided to invent something that is half dessert and half wine, but it is not a dessert wine! It is the excellent “wine ice cream”, to brighten our sunny and hot days: the Mercer’s Wine Ice Cream. I have even seen around in cool ice cream parlors some flavors that bring “Champagne” with some fruit or Port wine with Cookies, but I found it really fun that more and more companies are making something with this theme!
The more widespread the theme, the better! Have you ever thought how delicious it is to be able to go to the market and choose a jar of port ice cream? Or their Cherry Merlot? But not only that, they still have the following flavors: Chocolate Cabernet, Red Raspberry Chardonnay, Riesling and Peach White Zinfandel (this is the only one that I found a bit dubious …). And by the way the product was so well developed that Mercer’s Dairy grabbed some awards out there like the Trends and Innovations Awards in China.
And for people who like anything alcoholic, good news! Wine Ice Cream ice creams have up to 5% alcohol! Of course, it’s a little bit compared to a wine that usually has between 12.5% and 15%, but if you think about it, it’s practically the same alcohol content as a beer! Nham!
Mercer’s Wine Dairy does not export to Brazil yet, but for those in the USA, it sends its ice cream to the entire North American territory overnight. Whoever can prove it, let us know what you think! And in the meantime, we will be here to cheer for this news to arrive in Brazil soon!
