A recent study from the United States of America seems to confirm that deep-fried food, if consumed regularly, increases the risk of prostate cancer. The researchers found that men who ate deep-fried frozen meals at least once a week – such as breaded chicken nuggets, French fries, donuts, or other fatty pastries – had a 35 percent higher risk of prostate cancer than men who only ate once a month or eat fried foods less often. Acrylamide is formed when food is cooked at extremely high temperatures. This includes deep-frying food that is fried in hot fat. It is particularly harmful when people use the same fat over and over again to prepare their deep-fried frozen food. There is not only the danger that acrylamide will form, but other, possibly carcinogenic substances can also be produced, which then not only increase the risk of prostate cancer. Avoiding fried food more often also has a positive effect on the line.
