I’m going to make a confession that may sound strange: I’ve never been a fan of brigadeiro. Yes it’s true! At children’s parties I always ate lots of snacks, some other sweets and didn’t even care about the brigadeirinhos played by all the other children (and adults).
Over the years (ah, hormones!) I started to like sweets in general (I don’t know if this is good or bad) and the popularity of the “gourmet brigadeiros” made me give a chance to the much desired sweets . And isn’t it that I started to like some of them, mainly with pistachios, almonds and the like? Detail for Nutella and whites!
A curiosity about the Portuguese is the interest in Brazilian culture. In addition to the fact that there are many Brazilian immigrants here, there is also a strong influence of soap operas, blogs and YouTube channels. So why not have a brigadeiros store here?
Among the thousands of places to sweeten my days in Lisbon, there is one that won my heart on the first visit. It opened less than 1 year ago and is already the biggest hit: Oh! Brigadeiro, a cute little corner full of details. Just a counter, the open kitchen, stools and a terrace with tables. You can eat there or take it home.
The owner is Portuguese, but who makes all the delights served there is Carol, a super friendly Brazilian, who also serves with a wide smile on her face.
There are more than 30 flavors, among them the traditional (milk, white, bitter…), fruit (coconut, strawberry, passion fruit…), spices (cinnamon, pink pepper, ginger…), crunchy (hazelnut, pistachio, almond… ), alcoholic (coffee, cachaça…), stuffed and others. I usually order the menu brigadeiro + coffee.
In addition to the “enroladinhos” you can also eat brigadeiro from a spoon, chocolate cookie and truffle cake. Everything fresh, done on the same day.
