Every place has that typical dish that tourists are dying to try, isn’t it? In good air, this food is the grid! Also known as the Argentine barbecue, the Barbecue it is made on a grill with fire fed by wood and ember. The other time we went to the city, Paulo was delighted with the classic grill! And I? I just kept an eye out, since I don’t eat meat 🙁
The good news for vegetarians and vegans is that now we can also enjoy parrilla and without causing harm to animals! Want to know where to find this wonder? So let’s find out!
WHERE TO FIND
The only place to taste the vegan parrilla is the restaurant La Reverde Parrillita Veganin Buenos Aires. The place calls itself the first restaurant in the world to serve a vegan version of parrilla, so we couldn’t help but try it.
I already say that the space is very crowded and it is difficult to get an available table. As far as we can tell, it is a success among city dwellers.
As for the dishes, the options are varied. In addition to the parrilla, you also find bread stuffed with seitan and vegan chorizo, two other hits from the house. The appearance of the parrilla is very similar to the traditional one – even the smell is of meat! And these “meats” also come with a sauce of your choice. I ended up opting for the chimichurri, which is the most classic.
The texture of the food is not the best, but the flavors are very interesting. It doesn’t resemble meat, but I think it fulfills part of the proposal to look like a barbecue.
SERVICE AND VALUES
Unfortunately we don’t have many positive comments about the service. In addition to being rude, they took our wrong orders. Paulo, for example, ordered white bread and we received Australian bread. Besides, they were not very ready to help us when it came to getting a table: /
For about 50 reais per person, we expected a little more.
Considering the experience, it was interesting to get to know the place and try new flavors. I recommend it to anyone who is very curious to taste a vegan parrilla 😉
