Going to a different country and returning without at least a few purchases is practically impossible. At New Zealand, for example, local stores are cute! I confess that I have a greater fondness for establishments related to decoration. Still, the local alternatives for buying clothes and stationery are also incredible.
I know that the journey of many people who visit the country is not just about Auckland. For this reason, I decided to select 5 stores in New Zealand to share here. That way, you can visit at least one of them and make great purchases 😉
Located in Ponsonby, one of Auckland’s most incredible regions, Iko Iko is a paradise for those who love stationery and the like. Even though it is best known for office supplies, the store also sells thousands of other small utilities.
As a good confectioner, I bought some cookie cutters with very different shapes. In fact, I showed them to you in our first vlog for New Zealand. Because it has a wide variety of products, this is one of the best stores to buy gifts and souvenirs, escaping the traditional souvenir.
Another stationery store, but this time in Christchurch! AN Stationary store gathers everything you can imagine from stationery. As a bonus, you will also find books, games and decoration pieces.
The products in the store are super cute and different, with a modern design and varied prints. Just like the Iko Iko, this is a great place to find the perfect gift for friends and family 🙂
Also in Ponsonby stay the WIXII, a sustainable clothing store that follows the concept of slow fashion. The brand is independent and always seeks to make a unique collection, with items that have the same style as the owners.
The fabric, for example, comes from small producers. In addition, the clothing coloring process is all natural and designed for each specific season. They also sell vintage pieces that have been carefully chosen, going through a super special curatorship.
AN Folklore is located in Otago, a region relatively close to Queenstown! The store mainly sells decorative objects and household items. However, depending on when you go some stationery items, accessories and perfumery are also available there.
Even taking up a small space, the store is filled with incredible products. These are pieces that are not found anywhere, you know? So try to stop by if you’re in the area.
Sunday at home
Last, but not least, the Sunday at home. Just entering the Instagram of the brand you already fall in love with at least 10 products, I swear! If you are looking for a minimalist store with sustainable decoration products, this is the ideal place.
The store is in Waihi Beach, which is not such a tourist area and frequented by Brazilians. Anyway, it is interesting to walk around the region and get to know a different beach.
