Having a good coffee, tea or eating a sweet makes any day tastier, right? During trips this is no different, mainly because in other countries we can try new flavors and seemingly unusual combinations. Those who follow our vlogs already know that we do not give up knowing at least a good coffee on our trips and it is even better when we find local establishments 😉
In California, depending on where you are, it is quite easy to find cool places to spend time and have a small snack. In the case of San Diego, the city is super pleasant and has incredible cafes. Their advantage is that, in addition to having delicious drinks, sweets and snacks, they are also beautiful environments that yield great photos. Although there are several cafes with a more trendy style there, I chose my 5 favorites for this list 😉
Moniker Coffee Co.
The honeycomb coating both on the floor and on the walls is already one of the reasons why city dwellers love Moniker Coffee Co. The decoration and structure of the place is super charming, with a somewhat unfinished and industrial style that I love.
Whoever is looking for a good place to rest while having a coffee and eating some toast cannot fail to go there. The atmosphere is very quiet and they have several tables that are great for people looking for a space to work, study, or just spend a few minutes talking. If you are in doubt about which drink to choose, one of the most requested there is the honey and cinnamon latte!
The Copa Vida menu appeals to those who like coffee as well as tea (wow!). For those who prefer coffee, the traditional espresso, cappuccino or mocha are superbly made. Now, if you are one of mine and love a cup of tea, the variety is even greater, because they have white, black, herbal and green teas. They have drinks for all tastes!
Another attraction of the place is the selection of dishes for brunch, which differs a little from the traditional avocado toast. The Croque Madame sandwich, stuffed with ham, caramelized onion, tomato, Swiss cheese and béarnaise sauce is always among the customers’ favorite choices.
To get a little out of the more traditional cafes, add Up2You to your itinerary. It is perfect for those who want to eat a tasty and alternative dessert. The atmosphere is lovely and most sweets are served on wooden boards, unlike the dishes we are most used to.
Among the menu options are lava toast, brownie tart with ice cream and crepe cake. They also sell coffees, teas and smoothies that are indispensable “side dishes” when it comes to trying a good treat. If you want to see the menu in more detail, just click here 😉
Duet Coffee has a more minimalist decor with neutral colors that makes the environment super clean. The place has very different combinations of drinks, surprising most people who don’t know coffee. One that caught my attention the most was Milky Way Latte, which mixes chocolate mocha with salted caramel – it even gave water! If you prefer more classic options, just choose the simplest coffee or tea. Ah, for a light and quick snack, they offer bagels and waffles with different types of filling and topping.
Despite being a simple coffee and without much luxury, Heartsleeves Coffee deserves a visit because it is such a unique space. It is special because it has a theme based on Wonderland, from Alice in Wonderland, both in decoration and in the name of the products. It is practically impossible not to be enchanted by the outdoor tables and the turquoise walls.
Salty and sweet are not their specialty, so my tip is that you dare more when choosing the drink. Blueberry latte is a favorite with customers. Another drink that deserves to be tried is Vietnamese iced coffee!
All the places are very charming and interesting, right? If you want to know more about the city and also other places to eat, just watch our vlogs 😉
