What is not lacking in Sao Paulo they are good restaurants. The city is so big and with so many options that we are in doubt of where to go, what to taste, which drink to order… And look, we have lived here for over 15 years!
For those who want to know the restaurants from SP and don’t even know where to start, how about visiting some of the places that participated in the Taste Of São Paulo?
Situating those who do not know, this is a gastronomic event that brings together several chefs and restaurants starring in small stands, in which they sell their most famous dishes at a friendlier price (and in smaller portions, for you to try more things). It has a little of everything and for all pockets, so get on that weight list!
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ve certainly heard of Hot Pig. For those who still don’t know, know that this is one of the best places to eat in downtown São Paulo, I swear! Despite selling hot dog, which is a dish already known by everyone, the flavors are completely different.
Starting with the types of sausage, which are pork or a mix of mushrooms and tofu (positive point for having a vegetarian version). The side dishes are also delicious and very peculiar: apple ketchup, tucupi mustard, mayonnaise and red onion pickles. Many people will find this combination strange, but I promise that the flavors complement each other and will leave you with a taste for more.
THE Fasano it is undoubtedly one of the most famous (and expensive) restaurants in São Paulo. This means that if you intend to visit the restaurant of restaurateur Rogério Fasano, the cuisine of chef Luca Gozzani and are willing to shell out some money, go for it!
There at Taste Paulo proved a panini with porcupine, pesto and other spices. Because it was such a renovated restaurant, he thought it could have been even better. Anyway, even in the restaurant, people usually ask for dishes pulp, which are the specialty of the house.
CALF’S FOOT JELLY
Anyone who loves good Northeastern food cannot fail to go to the calf’s foot jelly, which is in the North Zone of São Paulo. This is one of my favorite restaurants and even though it has a simpler feel, the dishes are very creative and with unusual combinations.
Regarding the dishes, one of the most requested is the baião de dois it’s the dry meat hideout. For vegetarians, the goat cheese hideout with vegetables and mashed mandioquinha is a good choice! In addition, their tapioca dumpling is surreal and is the perfect snack to start starving, as well as the string bean broth.
Ah, just a tip: the restaurant space is not very big and it fills up a lot on weekends. That is, arrive early to avoid the queue!
It is difficult to find someone who has never heard of chef Fogaça. After all, he’s one of the Masterchef judges! If you’ve always dreamed of making comments about his food, just drop by It should.
Virtually all dishes in the place are made with beef, fish or seafood. Story summary: little friendly for vegetarians and even less for vegans. Still, anyone who doesn’t eat meat can ask for Whole ratatouille ravioli, served with tomato sauce and arugula pesto. At Taste, Paulo asked for pig’s belly and loved it, so here’s the tip for those who consume meat.
Oh, and for those who don’t want their trip to the restaurant to weigh so much in their pockets, the place also offers an executive menu from Monday to Friday. I know that the days are more limited, especially for those who work, but whoever has the opportunity cannot fail to enjoy it ?
