Decoration stores abound in São Paulo, but if you love the subject and like meeting new designers and amazing stores, there are some points in the city that have a greater concentration of pieces and breathtaking environments.
In this madness of reform in the producer and construction of the house on the farm, it is clear that the theme is more present in my life. Although many paulistanos already know these neighborhoods well, I think it is worth sharing the tips for those who have not visited these points or are passing through the city 😉
If you are passionate about cool and modern pieces, Vila Madalena is your place. If I were you, I would visit the region in at least 2 days, because there really is so much to see. In Harmonia, Fidalga and Aspicuelta streets, for example, you will be charmed by at least 10 stores!
To help you with the script, I made a small selection of my favorite stores in the region. The first one is one that has appeared in one of the reform vlogs, the Prototype (Rua Harmonia, 71). The furniture you find there is unlike anything you’ve ever seen! For those who enjoy a décor with an industrial footprint and a mix of textures, this is the store you need to visit!
Another wonderful store that you have surely heard of is West Wing. In addition to the incredible campaigns on the site, they have a physical store at Rua Simpatia, 51. I think I don’t even need to dwell on this, after all, I don’t know a person who doesn’t love Westwing!
Do you like vintage? THE Retro 63 (Rua Harmonia, 63) will be your paradise! There you will find furniture and decorative objects from the 50s, 60s and 70s in great condition. Their curatorship is great and the place doesn’t have that antique look, you know?
Well, those were just a few of my recommendations, but the Mind (Rua Harmonia, 322), the House that has (Rua Mourato Coelho, 1039), the Oppa Design (Rua Aspicuelta, 153) and the Study of Manus (Rua Girassol, 310) are also worth the visit!
In addition, the neighborhood is a delight and you can take the opportunity to visit some bars and restaurants 😉
Like Vila Madalena, Pinheiros is a neighborhood full of delicious restaurants and cafés, so you can book a whole day to get to know the region.
I can’t start the directions without speaking at Rua Mateus Grou! You will be amazed by the amount of amazing stores there 😉
At number 629 you will find the Cremme Space which is a mandatory stop for those who enjoy differently designed furniture. There you will also find pillows, lamps, pendants, shelves, coat racks and even kitchen accessories!
Across the street, but still on the same block, you will fall in love with National gallery at number 540. It seems that the objects came directly from Pinterest, because each detail is charming. The store is perfect for those who are looking for the last details in the renovation: vases, cachepôes, baskets, hooks, pictures, mirrors … There are many decorative objects there!
Very close by, at number 503, you can find one of my favorite stores: the Collector. There are so many beautiful things there that it is impossible to define what I love most! The kitchen items definitely won my heart, but I must confess that I also love the store’s handles and hooks! There you can find garbage bins and furniture, and the curatorship is really great!
In the next block you will be enchanted by the vintage and design furniture in the Desmobilia, number 401. It’s all full of personality! You will probably also want to take all the amazing light fixtures home 😉
Practically attached, at 387, we have the Sum design. The store has furniture with a more sophisticated footprint, but still very cozy. Many pieces have colorful details that take them away from the traditional.
This was all at Mateus Grou, okay? Going to Rua Francisco Leitão, 134 you will also fall in love with the most incredible antique dealer in São Paulo: In La Garçonne. Today, the place is well known for the clothing line signed by none other than Alexandre Herchcovitch, but the vintage furniture and objects that dominate the decor are wonderful!
I hope you like the directions and feel free to suggest more amazing stores in the city 😉
