The angels is one of the cities with more options vegan restaurants and vegetarian that I know! And besides the variety being huge, most of them offer an interesting menu, with different combinations and delicious spices. The real paradise for those who don’t eat meat 😉
One of those special corners of LA is the Thanks Mom, a restaurant herbal inspired by Mexican cuisine. The ingredients served there are all locally produced and organic, that is, everything super fresh and full of flavor.
The main intention of the restaurant is not only to honor the ingredients but also the Mexican women who spend hours in the kitchen, preparing the family’s food. Pretty cute, right?
We have to know a little about the menu beforehand to find out if the restaurant is our style, right? So I’m going to tell you a little about what’s there.
First of all, the menu division: brunch, lunch, dinner, happy hour and desserts! There is food for all times of the day. Even those who want to have a more complete experience can opt for the tasting menu, tasting the best dishes of the house.
Bowls are often the most ordered, with the restaurant offering three combination options:
- UNO: romaine, brown rice, black beans, tempeh chorizo, guacamole, pico de gallo, cashew cream and pumpkin seeds.
- DOS: roasted lentils, peanut sauce, spinach, pico de gallo, coconut rice and pineapple salsa, pumpkin seeds and avocado.
- THREE: quinoa, cabbage, roasted pumpkin, cashew cream pesto, white beans, peppers and onions.
I chose the second option and it was really surreal, I swear! The spices are placed in the right measure and the flavors harmonize very well on the palate, it is worth trying. For the starter, enjoy the guacamole with tortillas, which was also delicious. In addition to these options you will also find wraps, hamburgers, salads … it’s an option that doesn’t end!
I love wide spaces, with industrial style and plants scattered around the environment! Gracias Madre is exactly like that, so I am suspicious to speak. The pendant lights and the large tables bring a very cozy atmosphere, I felt almost at home.
For those who like to eat outdoors, they also have an open space full of places. And it’s a lot of people, so you don’t have to worry about reserving a table or having to wait in line to get in. Ah, that is unless you want to go to celebrate a special group date!
Perfect! That’s what I have to say about Gracias Madre. No kidding, this is one of the best vegan restaurants in LA And look, I’ve been to some! Even meat eaters tend to fall in love with the local cuisine, so take the opportunity when you’re in town ❤️
